Trekking in Nepal
Trekking grade information.
Trekking in Nepal can be dived into three gradations by
its difficulties. To get pleasure from the trekking, in
Nepal, you have to organize yourself physically and then
to have to choose a trek which suits you. Please
remember though, that only minimal exercise is required
to prepare yourself for most of the trips, and you only
carry a light daypack while you are in trekking.
E - Easy:
Holidays/weekends are the easiest treks in the
Himalayas and involved walking up and down the hills
or the reasonable level of earth surface. All short
treks of about 4-6 days are included in this
category.
M - Moderate:
Treks in this category are designed for 7-15 days
that rely upon the trekkers' needs as well. These
treks take you up to an elevation of 3000 m above
sea level, though some demands 15 days more above
5000 m high.
C - Challenging:
All longer treks exceeding 15 days duration are in
this category. These treks include high passes above
5000 m taking you to high mountains/deserts. So, the
treks in this category are a real challenge and
provide you with an opportunity to observe old
life-style, culture, and tradition of the people
living in these places.
Tea-House trek.
A tea- house or Lodge trek is local run guesthouse, but
standard very enormously. In popular areas such as
Annapurna, Everest and Lantang Tea- house are more like
Hotels, with hot shower western food, and private rooms,
where in more remote areas. They are for simple and more
authentically nepalese. Tea- house trekking is less
expensive than Camping and suitable for small groups and
also for Large groups.
Camping trek.
Camping trek is the full organized by the trekking
Company. On a camping trek you will sleep in tents. In a
Camping trekking a team of guide, cook, Sherpa and
porters carry all treks gears. Even if you've never
camped before, you don't need to worry: the tents we
provide are roomy, the sleeping pads/mattresses are
comfortable and international style food of high
standard. On all of our treks there is a bathroom tent
and a dining tent with tables and camp stools, providing
a cozy, comfortable atmosphere to eat and chat with
fellow trekkers during the evening.
Annapurna region.
The trek to Annapurna region is our most popular
trekking programme. This trek is recommended for it's
excellent mountain views.
Annapurna is one of the most popular trekking
destinations. The Annapurna region has many mountains
above 6,000 meters. Pokhara, the second most important
tourist spot of Nepal, is the gateway to the Annapurna
region. Pokhara is only 200 km away from the capital and
is easily accessible by road and air.
Langtang - Helambu region.
It is located north of Kathmandu and is best suited for
the short stay tourists. It was declared National Park
in 1976 and is a natural habitat of more than 1000
plants, 150 birds' species and numerous other mammals.
The starting point is Dhunche or Shyabru Bensi.
Trekking around Kathmandu & Pokhara
There are a number of short treks around Kathmandu for
the trekkers with the tight schedule and budget. The
most popular among these are Nagarkot, Kakani, Phulchoki,
Sundarijal and Shivapuri. All these places offer also
many breaths taking views of sunrise, sunset and
enchanting scenery. There are also many short trekking
areas around Pokhara including Sarangkot, Kaskikot,
Naudanda, Sikles and Panchase Lekh. The best short trek
north of Pokhara consists of the great ridges between
the river valley of Myagdi, Mardi and Seti.
Everest region.
The Khumbu region is known to the world as the land of
Mt. Everest. The world's highest peak and the Sherpa
people of this region have made this region one of the
most popular trekking and mountaineering destinations in
the world.
The trekking in this region offers vivid pictures of
Sherpas and their life style. Beside Mt. Everest, we can
see the panoramic view of Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam,
Pumori and Kwangde. The ancient monasteries are a common
sight on this trek.
Dhaulagiri region.
Dhaulagiri region lies in Western Nepal. Pokhara is the
starting point of this trek. This region is separated
from the Annapurna region by Kali Gandaki River. It also
has many peaks of more than 6000 meters. Dhaulagiri is
the highest mountain in western Nepal.
The breath taking natural scenery is common in these
trek. During spring (March to April) the Rhododendrons,
the national flowers of Nepal are in full bloom as
elsewhere in Nepal |
